Under the circumstances where our system operates Windows Server 2019 on a Dell PowerEdge R440 server and displays the error message "Fault detected on drive 0 in disk drive bay 1," what steps should be taken to diagnose the source of the problem and then address it effectively?

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

    1. Remove the failed drive, wait approximately 20 seconds, and then insert the replacement drive. It should start rebuilding automatically.
    2. If not, you can assign the replacement as a hot spare and then it will be rebuilt to the virtual disk.
    3. Replace the disk drive to see if the same fault exists.
    4. If only this drive fails, update the firmware version to the latest.
    5. Dell’s official website provides the part number of the drive to verify compatibility.

    Best Regards,

    Wesley Li
