My Client has a 2008 SP2 but cannot upgrade it at this time, is it possible to update this server version even from Windows updates or the Windows update CatLog?

It is not possible to update Windows Server 2008 SP2 after the end of extended support, which was on January 14, 2020. This means that Windows Server 2008 will no longer receive any form of updates, neither in terms of features or security.

Specifically for new ones.You can still download updates that were released before the end of the Windows Server lifecycle.

Theoretically, pre-lifecycle patches can be downloaded and installed.
What is the patch number you want to download? Whether other patches before the lifecycle can be installed normally.
