Dial up connections in Windows 11? BSOD ndis.sys

Hi guys, hoping someone can help with this rather niche issue. I understand its incredibly dated tech, due to be written off Dec 2025 with the ISDN switch off in Dec 2025. However, we do have the requirement for Dial up in order to continue to support a number of customers as we work in the Telephony sector and some customers aren't quite ready to move away yet.

We currently have 2x Windows 7 PC's which are VLAN'd off of the main network which we have used as connection points to gain access to support dial up reliant customers.

Obviously due to the security risks, I want to update this. The issue we have is that in testing and trying to configure Dial up in Windows 11, as soon as we connect to a Dial up profile we are met with a blue screen. I have the dump files if you require them, but essentially the cause is ndis.sys file (Network Driver Interface Specification).

I have looked online to no avail for a resolution. We have tried a full network setting reset, sfc scan, safe mode with networking, updating network adapters, removing & reinstalling network adapters, memtest, clean boot all with no luck, we've also tried multiple machines with fresh Windows 11 installs.

Has anyone gotten Dial Up working in Windows 11 and if so, could you provide any advice?

    Hello,

According to the information in the dump you provided, the blue screen problem seems to be caused by a problem with the Network Driver Interface Specification (ndis.sys) component. It is recommended that you visit the website of your network adapter manufacturer to check the latest Windows 11 compatible driver, and then download and install it to see if the problem can be solved.

    Best regards
