Windows 11 invisible letters in 'All Apps' Alphabet block

When I navigate to the Windows 'All Apps' letter block (after clicking a specific letter in the All Apps list) I cannot see any letter (see screenshot). Surprisingly, when hovering the mouse pointer over the dark area I can see the dark greyed squares at the positions of the (invisible) letters (see also screenshot). My Problem seems to be similar to that one: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-theme-invisible-fonts/18447f0b-e22c-487d-8484-da98bef98648

Both of the following actions haven't solved the problem:

  1. sfc /scannow

2) Inplace Upgrade

Current software level of my desktop workstation (after Inplace Upgrade):

Edition Windows 11 Pro for Workstations
Version 23H2
Installiert am ‎28.‎09.‎2024
Betriebssystembuild 22635.4225
Leistung Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1041.0

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to Windows 11 invisible letters in 'All Apps' Alphabet block.

Try go to Settings > Personalization > Themes, select the default Windows theme and font settings, remove other custom themes.

Go to Device Manager and check your graphics drivers, update them in Device Manager or via manufacturer's website.

Go to settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, check for any pending updates. Check if the latest windows update has been installed.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly

    Hello Molly,

Thank you for your advice. Let me explain: My problem arrose suddenly, and not based on any change. I have hoped that a Microsoft specialist could precisely tell me the root cause of my problem and how to fix it, and not just try ... Since I have spent so much time in trying to resolve the problem (including many combinations in the Personalization area and resetting my Windows 11 to an earlier software level), I am not keen to do more trials but instead, I am waiting now for Windows 11 24H2. I have read that Microsoft has made changes regarding the look of starting applications. At best, Windows 11 24H2 will work it out somehow.

P.S.: Just to let you know what I also have done:

    • deletion of the Font Cache > problem remained
    • test with a new (test) account > problem also with the test account!

I hope you understand my expectations regarding Windows 11 24H2.

    Best Regards,

    Guido

Update on today evening: Believe it or not, for whatever reason the problem has gone - without having changed any settings 😵‍💫🙃🥸
