We have some proprietary software that requires Server 2019, which means we have to buy a new server, my question is, how long will Microsoft support Server 2019, I can see that normal support is nov 2024 and extended support is Jan 2029, the supplier of the software will offer support until they are told by Microsoft that Server 2019 is EOL.

Mainstream support ended for Windows Server 2019 but patches will continue for another 5 years of Extended support. ESU can extend that support for another 3 years past that extended end date at an increasing cost each year.

Listing Start Date Mainstream End Date Extended End Date
    Windows Server 2019 Nov 13, 2018 Jan 9, 2024 Jan 9, 2029

    Hi Techfreak

Thanks for your reply, do you think that if you don't pay for Microsoft extended support that third party vendors will continue to support Server 2019 until Jan 2029.

It would depend on the vendor. However, since vendors are aware of the standard 10-year lifecycle of the OS, they probably anticipate offering support for that long.
