Can I move a Windows 11 Storage Spaces pool/array to a different machine?

I have a "on the frits" server that is setup running Windows 11 Enterprise with a 5 10TB disk Storage Spaces array in whatever storage spaces uses instead of RAID5. I'm trying to find some info to see if it's possible or rather safe for me to move my Storage Spaces array to a different machine. In doing some research I have found that it's possible to move my array as the "raid" data is actually saved on the disks themselves... but going beyond that I'm just worried if I attempt to move my array and it doesn't work that I'll lose some, if not all my data. With that, what is the process someone should follow to safely move a Storage Spaces array?

My plan, and tell me if this is dumb please, was to move over my 5 drives plus the OS boot drive (NVMe) and install them all into another machine. I figured having the original boot drive wouldn't hurt, but wanted to asked first before I attempted it. Also, the motherboard of the machine I'm moving the drives to does have 6 SATA ports...but SATA5/SATA6 are NOT designed for RAID (as per the manufactures manual). Since Storage Spaces is a software "RAID" solution would I be alright using 1 of those 2 SATA inputs? As a precaution I have ordered a 6-port SATA PCI-e card, but if my motherboard is up for the task on it's own I can just cancel that order and use the onboard SATA ports instead.

Essentially I just want to do whatever allows me to safely move the drives to another machine so I can then pull all the data to some backup drives I've purchased and also try and fix the original machine without risk of my drives being damaged. Thanks!

    Hi aimforsilence,

Yes, it is possible to move a Storage Spaces pool/array to a different machine. The storage pool can be recognized directly in the Storage Spaces on the new machine. Since Storage Spaces is a software-based solution, it should work with any SATA port.

It's always a good idea to have a backup of your data before attempting any major changes like this. So, make sure to have a backup of your data before proceeding with the move.
