Change the computers Micrsoft family account to my work account

Hi,

I got a computer at my new workplace that someone else had been using before. That user had been using a private microsoft acccount... So we did a reset of the OS, but I could not start it up with my work account so I also had to use my private family account. After some struggling I found out that it was because the windows version was not a Pro version. I paid to get the Pro version. But I cannot still access my work account by adding my work account in "Settings---add work account", something about my company does not allow a family computer to have access.

What to do? I do not need to have my private account on this computer, only the work account. But how to exchange the "owner" of the "computer"?

By some reason I could not upload a screen dump of the error message... But error code is 80192EE7

BR

Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

Per your description, my understanding is that you failed to use your business account to set up a Windows user profile on the computer.

    • If not, please point it out and let us know.
    • If so, generally, you can select "Switch user" in the current Windows user profile, select "Other user" and enter the credentials for your business account. I'm wondering if you have tried the above steps to switch to another Windows user profile.

If you have already tried the same steps and failed, I would like to collect more information.

    1. Is the computer connected to your company's network?
    2. Have you contacted your company's IT team? Generally, this would be the most efficient way to handle this case for you.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
