When I press shift+L on the Windows App for macOS nothing happens. The only way to generate a capital L on Windows App is trough Caps Lock. Please advise and/or let me know how to open a proper support ticket.

    Dear gt-af!

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

I read your question and appreciate the information you provided about the uppercase "L" key issue you're experiencing in Windows applications for macOS, but I need some additional information to better understand the situation and provide assistance.

Could you please specify which Windows application you're experiencing this issue in? That way I can better determine if it's an application-specific issue or a broader system-wide problem.

Are you experiencing this issue while using Microsoft applications (such as Windows installed via Boot Camp) or while running Windows on macOS using virtual machine software (such as Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox)?

Also, I want to confirm if your keyboard has a Mac mode and a Windows mode. Some keyboards have different modes to accommodate different operating systems. Check your keyboard settings to see if there's an option to switch modes, or try a different keyboard to rule out hardware issues.

Did you also mention that this is a problem that occurs in all applications, or is it only in a specific application? If the latter, please provide the name of the application.

Once you provide this information, I can help you determine the next steps, including how to open an appropriate support ticket. If this is a widespread issue, further investigation may be required and require support from Apple or Microsoft. If the issue is limited to a specific app, you may need to contact the developer of that app.

Please provide the above information so that we can continue to help you resolve this issue. Thank you!

I wish you all the best in the new year 2025~

    Best regards,

    Dear Yang.Z,

Thanks for your message and Happy New Year! The macOS application that I am referring to is called "Windows App". It used to be called Remote Desktop. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-app/

The only way in which I can type L in Windows App is by using caps lock on my MacBook Pro M1 Pro keyboard. The version of Windows App is 11.0.8 (2481). I am experiencing this issue when I am remotely connected to a Windows PC using Windows App on my Mac. This happens consistently with any of the applications that I am accessing remotely via Windows App.

With regard to the Mac mode or Windows mode keyboard, I don't think that Windows App support that. The keyboard works flawlessly when I type on any other apps on my Mac so it has to be a software issue. My Mac's model number is MacBookPro18,3. full hardware specs here https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook\_pro/specs/macbook-pro-m1-pro-10-core-cpu-16-core-gpu-14-2021-specs.html

    Best regards,

I understand that your problem is related to remote desktop. I will transfer your question to the corresponding section, and the corresponding personnel will give you the corresponding solution or other reasonable explanation for your remote desktop related problems.

    Thank you for your understanding!

    Hi,

Same issue here. It happens for some time and then disappears. It seems to affect the shift key, as nothing happens when I use it with another key. SHIFT+LEFT_ARROW (as well as other arrows) to select text does not work neither.

Quitting and reopening Windows App does not help. Restarting the Azure devbox does not help.
