Hi, recently I saw an unknown untrusted certificate on the personal tab on google chrome certificates below my personal one that I have since years. The certificate was issued and valid for the same "person", that was a bunch of numbers and types in this format xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx and it was valid from 7 april 2024 to 7 april 2025. Chrome advised me that this certificate is not reliable, I do not recognize or know how this certificate has appeared or installed in my google chrome certificates so I got scared to be malware, spyware or similar and deleted it from chrome. I dont know if I did the correct thing or not and I did not take photos (my fault) because I panicked. My OS is Windows 11.It is dangerous? Shouldnt have I deleted it?where it comes from? Some answers would be apreciated. I link a photo that I found in a forum, the issuer and the receiver was similar (the combination of numbers and types) but it wasnt ms organization and it was valid for 1 year (from 7 april 2024 to 7 april 2025) instead of 10 but also created on 7 april. Thanks in advance.

    Hello MPGC23,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Maybe there is any web app or program on the google browser that need to use this certificate, then this certificate generates.

You can also check if the same certificate will be generated in the future when you open/use any web app or program (maybe you open/use in the past) on the google browser. If so, you can check the certificate details about this certificate.

You can check if there is such certificate (Certificates - Local Computer\Personal\Certificates folder) on the machine.

Usually, the certificate is untrusted, it means the root certificate of this certificate is not installed into Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

You can check if there is any error message after you delete this certificate. If there is no any issue about this certificate, you can ignore it.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
    Daisy Zhou
