so my hp gaming laptop froze on the loading screen one day so I decided to restart my computer. I was struck with bitlocker recovery key and I instead tried doing the other recovery options. None of those work so I decided to get my key via Microsoft account. Entered the right email and tried adding my device [via serial number] to get my recovery key and it said it didn't work. I checked many times but still no result. I went to the place I bought it and they said it can't be repaired. I cannot factory reset my pc also.

    Hello rupinder dahelay,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

Here are some steps and suggestions that might help you recover from this situation:

    1. Check Other Possible Locations for the BitLocker Recovery Key: You can do this by following the steps in Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support.
    2. Microsoft Support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key. So, if you can’t find the BitLocker recovery key and are unable to undo any changes that caused it to be needed, you’ll have to reset your device using one of the Windows recovery options.

    Best regards,

    Lei
