    Hello,

This is because each time the phone turns on the hotspot, a new profile will be generated. When the computer connects, it will think that this is not the same network, so the network name will be added one at the end.

I suggest that you open the registry editor on the computer and locate the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

Delete all the corresponding network configuration sub-items under this path. When you reconnect to the network via USB, the network name will start from the original one.

Note If you modify the registry incorrectly, you can cause serious problems. Therefore, follow these steps carefully. For additional protection, back up the registry before you modify it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see How to back up and restore the registry in Windows.

    Best Regards

I did delete them and the number is starting is from 1 now, but again the number goes on with 2, 3, 4 and so on the subsequent times after using usb tethering for several times after unplugging it and plugging it. Because of this, I am not able to keep a track of the data consumption I am doing while being connected to internet via usb tethering.

Is there any way to make windows identify the phone usb tethering as the same network each time I connect it?
