Shared Folders (Win 2008 / Win 2003)

Hi all,
I am trying to access a shared folder on a win server 2003 through a win server 2008.
The server is on the network, I am able to ping it but not access the shared folder via win explorer.

I am not sure if this is related to the Kerberos Key distribution Center not being installed on the 2008
Any help is much appreciated

    Hello  Shawn Matadeen

To better assist you, could you please provide some additional information?

    • Does the account have correct sharing permissions and security permissions to the shared folder on win server 2003?
    • On the Windows Server 2003 machine, can you check if Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing are turned on in the network settings?
    • Are there any specific error messages when attempting to access the shared folder?
    • Have you tried accessing the shared folder using the IP address of the Windows Server 2003 or its hostname?

    Thanks,

    Karlie
