Hi Microsoft Community,

Newbie here!

Would like to seek your help/confirmation regarding the Requirement/s of the Client below using Windows DFS-Replication.

Since HPE StroreEasy doesn’t natively feature Replication, proposed Windows DFS-Replication.

Scenario 1 (Left Side):

  • Is it possible to set the Target Replication site / Windows File Server as “Read-only”?
  • Would like to help validate if the provided setup is possible? Secondary Site Users will be accessing the Namespaces located in the Primary Site?

Scenario 2 (Right Side):

  • In case the Primary Windows File Server goes down, how can I set the Replicated Namespaces or Secondary site as the Primary Namespaces (like a failover feature)?
  • If it is possible to set the Secondary Site as the Primary Namespaces, then the Primary Site goes up, how can I set the Primary Site as the Primary Namespaces again (like a failback feature)?
