Windows 11.

I would appreciate some help to be able to connect back to my NAS drive (e.g. Data (\NAS47F6B8) Z:

The drive is shown as always in Explorer as NAS47F6B8 and i also another file/folder - Data (\NAS47F6B8) Z: This has always been there. When i click on Data (\NAS47F6B8) Z: i get an error connection - "An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \NAS47F6B8\Data, Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. This connection has not been restored."

    Hello ,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.
Based on your description, here are some possible workarounds:

    1. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the network drive
    2. Make sure your computer is on the same network as the NAS drive. You can run the ping command to check whether the IP address of the NAS is reachable.
    3. Try restarting your computer and NAS device.
    4. Make sure network discovery and file and printer sharing are enabled in Windows settings.
    5. Make sure the firewall doesn't block access to the NAS.
    6. Try connecting directly using the IP address of the NAS.
    7. Make sure your network adapter drivers are up to date.
    8. Log in to the management interface of the NAS and check the settings of the shared folder to make sure that you have permission to access the folder.

I hope the information above is helpful.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Regards,
    Jill Zhou
