Hi,

I used to be able to access my shares by sharing a folder (FOR YEARS).. then I could setup a pass for my personal user to access my folder remotely

I just cannot find this option anymore ...

I checked the account settings, **I can set tons of stuffs except a bloody password ...**why did it become so cryptic ??

thanks for your help

[edit] I tried my email and password (from live account) in my mobile phone, it just cannot connect to the share

    Hello,

I suggest you check if the share permissions and NTFS permissions of the account you set up for the shared folder are correct. It is recommended to give the account full control permissions. If the account permissions are correct, but you still cannot access the shared folder, check if there are any relevant error messages when mapping the shared file. If so, please provide relevant error screenshots here.

I hope the above information is helpful to you.

    Best Regards

thanks for helping, but this makes no sense at all

last week I could access my shared folders, like this

    • set the folder as shared, NOTHING ELSE no security advanced settings
    • add a password for local admin user -> I just reinstalled win 10 and now there is no such setting anymore

    Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. I suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Find the PC icon on the Win10 desktop, right-click PC, select Manage, and open the management window.
    2. Expand Local Users and Groups and select the user.
    3. Right-click the user name and select Properties.
    4. Uncheck User cannot change password.

    Best Regards

    Zunhui
