Does the ADF Dynamics linked service support SQL queries as well as FetchXML?

I think I remember seeing a preview feature in ADF that permitted a dataset to be configured to read data from a Cloud-hosted D365 instance by specifying an SQL query instead of an entity name or a FetchXML query. I can't find it now. Did I imagine it?

Hi @Simon Sellick ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum and thanks for your query.

As of today you can use either Entity name or FetchXML query which are supported in Azure Data Factory Dynamics 365 Connector. SQL queries are not supported.

If you have any feedback or suggestion regarding a new feature, I would highly recommend you to please share your feedback in ADF user voice forum: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/270578-azure-data-factory . All the feedback shared in this forum are actively monitored and reviewed by ADF engineering team.

Please do share the user voice feedback link once it is posted, so that other users with similar idea can up-vote and/or comment on your suggestion which will help increase the priority of the feature request.

Hope this helps.
