Bluescreen Issue with Hyper-V on Windows 10

Hi,

I'm having the issue that I've constantly gotten Bluescreens when Virtualization is activated in Bios, and Hyper-V is running. I run two virtual machines, one Server 2019 and one Windows 10.

When I activate the AMD Virtualization option of the CPU in BIOS and then start up the Hyper-V, I get multiple bluescreens per day. Reaching from 10 seconds to multiple hours after boot.

As soon as disable virtualization, and therefore Hyper-V I do not get bluescreens.

What I've tried so far:

  • Update all possible drivers
  • Update Windows
  • Update BIOS Firmware to the current version

The state remains the same, running fine without virtualization, crashing with visualizations

Hardware:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
  • MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master (Bios F30)
  • RAM: 64GB DDR4
  • GPU: EVGA RTX3080
  • HDD: 3x 2TB Samsung 970 M.2. SSD drives

Bluescreens:

Today I activated virtualization again and took a look at the bluescreens, here is the one I've got today:

23.Dec.2021 10:37:51 - "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"

Failing Drivers (Red elements) seem to be:

  • fwpkclnt.sys
  • netio.sys
  • tcpip.sys

23.Dec.2021 10:42:20 - No Bug Check String - I think i saw "DCP Watchdog Violation"

Failing Drivers (Red elements) seem to be:

  • ntoskrnl.exe

23.Dec.2021 14:44:45 - "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

Failing Drivers (Red elements) seem to be:

  • ntoskrnl.exe
  • bddci.sys

As far as I noticed, these are similar to the other messages I've seen while testing and trying to find a solution. Sometimes I've also seen "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"

What can I do further to fix this issue or to find the cause?

    Kindly check C:\Windows\Minidump and copy available minidump files to the desktop then share them with me in order to analyze them to indicate which file is causing the BSOD.

    Thanks for sharing the minidump files.

    One of the minidump files indicates bddci.sys as the cause of the BSOD which is related to the Bitdefender. If you do have it, uninstall it completely, or reinstall the latest version of it.

    If Bitdefender is not installed on your computer, try the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.

    1-Check for updates:

    Go to Settings > Update and Security > Check for update > install all the pending updates

    2-Uninstall any third-party security software and scan for viruses & malware with the free Malwarebytes:

    3-Run Command Prompt as administrator. Type this command and hit enter:

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    Then, type this command and hit enter:

    sfc /scannow

    4-If you are overclocking your PC, try running everything (CPU, GPU, system memory) at their stock speeds. See if the issue is still reproducible. Or, turn off XMP profile or set it to Auto.

    5-Download then install the latest version of BIOS & Chipset drivers from the manufacturer's website.

    6-Test the RAM with free utility MemTest86, then run a full 8 pass scan to test your RAM for physical errors:

    8-If you are comfortable of doing so, take all the system memory sticks out, examine them for any obvious defects, and then reseat them into the sockets. Make sure that they are seated properly in their slots. If you have multiple sticks of system memory installed and you suspect one is faulty, one thing to try is to reproduce the issue with only one stick of memory module at a time. This will help you to isolate the faulty module.

    9-If the issue still persists after the steps above, try to enable driver verifier for 2 days or until you get the BSOD then disable it and share the newly created minidump file:

    Thank you for your reply.

    Steps 1 and 3-9 did not display any abnormal results.

    About Step 2:

    I did not use Bitdefender, nor did the "Bitdefender Uninstaller" work for me. I ended up booting up in Safe Mode and Rename bddci.sys to bddci.old so the system cannot find/start it

    Since then i did not see any blue screens while using Hyper-V, nor were there any other system issues, and I now completely deleted bddci.
