RDP Connection not working

Good afternoon!

I have encountered such a rather difficult problem that I cannot connect to the remote desktop via the RDP connection of the built-in Windows Remote Desktop client. This connection method does not work either from a remote device to a local one, or in the opposite direction. Port forwarding has been performed on the router, port 3389 is open and not blocked by the Windows Firewall. 4 rules have been created: 2 for incoming connections (TCP and UDP) and 2 for outgoing connections both on the remote computer and on the local device. The settings that allow remote desktop connection have been changed in the Group Policy Editor. When connected via a VPN network service, for example, in my case, Radmin VPN, both devices securely and normally connect to the remote desktop. A scan of the Sfc in CMD did not reveal the necessary problem. Perhaps the problem lies in the IP address, because when connecting a local device to a neighboring laptop, instead of a remote PC, everything works fine. It should also be noted that they are found in 1 local network, connecting to a PC is performed without problems. Next, I want to note that port 3389 has been routed on the router for both UDP and TCP.

1) Version - Windows Pro - 22H2, last updated on 12/20/2024.

2) I have just checked port 3389 at this address and it has been successfully opened.

4) The commands in CMD to register the port, disable and enable remote desktop services were executed successfully, but they did not lead to the desired result.*** Moved from Windows / Windows 10 / Settings ***

    Hello,

If all configurations on your end are correct, the issue might be due to your ISP blocking inbound traffic on port 3389 for security reasons, or your ISP might be providing a dynamic public IP address. To investigate further, you can use a network capture tool like Wireshark to analyze the network traffic.

Additionally, try connecting to the remote PC from a different external network, such as a mobile hotspot or a friend's Wi-Fi. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to your local network or your ISP.

As a workaround, you can use a VPN to establish a secure connection or test the connection with a different RDP client to rule out any client-specific issues.

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Karlie Weng
