BitLocker fails to unlock in Recovery CMD.

I use the "manage-bde -unlock C: -password" and i enter the bitlocker password (let's assume this laptop's password is 1234565) then hit enter and i get the message that "Password failed to unlock drive". I am trying to make a script to do this procedure in many laptops so I don't want to have to use the Recovery Password since that would require mounting my usb, changing the .cmd file, commiting then unlocking the laptop. Is there something I am doing wrong when I get prompted to enter the BL password? Thank you everyone.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to Bitlocker.

Bitlocker recovery password is a 48-digit password, which is different from the computer user password.

Try run below command to check Bitlocker status on your machine:

    manage-bde -status

You can also check the status of a specific drive, such as C drive:

    manage-bde -status C:

If there is Bitlocker enabled drive, use below command to disable bitlocker of that drive:

Replace <recovery password> with your 48-digit recovery key, replace C with your current problem drive letter:

    manage-bde -unlock C: -recoverypassword <recovery password>

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly

Yes the recovery key method works, but I was wondering if there's any way to use the BitLocker PIN in the cmd to unlock the drive as to speed up the process and be able to semi-automate it
