I am unable to log into the remote computers on my network. They appear on the network, I want to open them, and use Remote Desktop. The sign in credentials and passwords which I use for the computers do not work.

After much travail including a one hour screen share session with Microsoft, the problem turned out to be the PIN. The "Hello PIN" has to be disabled on the remote computer so that the password can be used to sign in. This needs to be included in the instructions for Remote Desktop!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community forums.

To connect to a remote PC, that computer must be turned on, it must have a network connection, Remote Desktop must be enabled, you must have network access to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet), and you must have permission to connect.

For permission to connect, you must be on the list of users.

Before you start a connection, it's a good idea to look up the name of the computer you're connecting to and to make sure Remote Desktop connections are allowed through its firewall.

Hope this help. If you have any question or concern, please feel free to contact us.

    Regard.

    Hello Peter,

May I know whether you are referring to the Windows Hello PIN for Business or the customer version of the Hello PIN?

    Thanks
