The Shared Printer connection causing lots of bugs, as previous I have reported. Microsoft should view these bugs and needs to repaired it!!!!!!!!

The Printer connected to the computer which running Windows 11, Pro. OS Build is 26100.2605.

Using the formal steps like as Windows 7 do to share Printers and connect shared printers. But the Windows 11, version 24H2 have reported the Error 0x000004F8, when I use Guest account to view and to install the shared printers.

This seemed a new bug. As previous, Windows 10 which enables new RPC changes in Windows 10 shows the bug 0x0000011b, and the newer RPC changes which running Windows 11, version 22H2 and later shows more errors.

Some apartment in Enterprise which have USB Printers. needs to have a better experience to using this functions. If the bug cannot fixed, they must to use older version of Windows, such as Windows 7, or older version of Windows to improve the experience of shared printers.

The Shared printer connection shows the most terrible experience.

PLEASE referring the previous version of Windows like Windows 7 or Windows XP to improve the experience of shared printers!!!

Windows 10 will reaches its eol on 10/14/2025, Please try your best to improve the experience of Shared Printers!!!!!!

    Hello,

Based on the error message 0x000004f8 you provided, I suggest you use Registry Editor to enable insecure guest login to see if it can solve the problem. Please refer to the following steps:

    1. Open Registry Editor. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LanmanWorkstation.

Note: If the key does not exist, you need to create it. Hold down the "Windows" key (right-click), select "New" > "Key" and name the switch "LanmanWorkstation".

    1. Hold down the "LanmanWorkstation" key (right-click), select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value" and name it "AllowInsecureGuestAuth". Double-click, set "Value Data" to "1", and press Enter.

Note If you modify the registry incorrectly, you can cause serious problems. So, follow these steps carefully. For additional protection, back up the registry before modifying it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see Backing up and restoring the registry in Windows.
