Split from this thread.

Dear all,

Please provide me some support, because I can't install Sandbox, after the reboot I got error: Something didn't go as planned.

Fresh new notebook, installed windows on 10.25.2024.

What I did:

  • Bios: Virtualization enabled
  • In the "Turn windows features on or off" I tried everythin (Hyper-V, Virtual-Machine Platform, check/unchecked)
  • googled for answer more then 2 hours.

ISSUE

The issue was always the same for every tries. (screenshot below)

I got the the error message during the windows loading.

Message after the first normal restart after the Sandbox enabled:

Customizing features for you.

You're xx% there.

Please keep your computer on.

    Hello,

Based on the information you provided, I suggest you enter the service in the Windows search bar to open it, and set the startup type of the following services to automatic.

    Hyper-V Remote Desktop Virtualization Service

    Hyper-V Time Synchronization Service

    Hyper-V Host Service

    Virtual Disk

If the problem still cannot be solved, I suggest you open cmd as an administrator and run the following command to see if there is any file system damage:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    sfc /scannow

    Best Regards

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Due to my environment, I cannot open the link to the log you provided. I suggest you check the impact of third-party applications and open the computer in clean mode to see if the sandbox can be successfully installed. If the problem still cannot be solved, open the event log to see if there is any related error information.

    I've found the solution:

    Uninstalled these application:

    • Windows power toys (this app made crashes on another PC, but on another no, so I uninstalled to make sure. If you use this try starting with this.)
    • Bitdefender
    • ProtonVPN
