My device was tied to my personal Microsoft account in 2021, and since I applied to an international school in 2024, the school applied for a new Microsoft account for me for school use. This morning my computer system suddenly locked up, I logged into my personal Microsoft account and was able to find the device but it said the system was not locked (Figure 1).I logged into my account given to me by the school and it shows that I don't have a device tethering (Figure 2). At the moment I can't find a place to click to retrieve the key and looking at the retrieval prompt displayed on my computer I am locked out of my school account (picture 3), please get back to me as soon as possible, thank you.

    Hello,

Regarding the recovery key, you can find it in the following places:

    • Active Directory (AD)
    • Azure Active Directory (AAD)
    • Microsoft Account
    • MBAM
    • 3rd management application
    • Other methods like notepad/pdf/USB

1.If you are logged in with ad account,You need to first ensure that the following policies are configured.

Please install the following feature on ad dc side, then open ADUC and look for the recovery key.

Domain Administrator privileges are required or delegated permissions must have been granted by a domain administrator.

Normal users will not see the recovery key and cannot search for it.

2.If it's a Microsoft or Azure networked account login, it may backup into the Onedrive corresponding to one of those accounts.Try to find it from the following link

    Azure Links:Microsoft Azure

    Microsoft Links:BitLocker 恢复密钥 (live.com)

3.If you are using MBAM to manage the recovery key, you can check the key at the following URL:

    https://mbamiis.mbam2012.cn/helpdesk/KeyRecoveryPage.aspx

4.The recovery key may be stored in the 3rd management application, or it may exist somewhere like notepad/pdf/USB.You can try looking in these places.

    Best regards,

    Chengxili
