Hi all, I have been facing this annoyting issue with Windows. It occurs either with windows installed on VM machine and using Linux as host operative system, as well as on windows 10 normally installed. I went through all these links without solution:

I personally do not believe it is due to utilman.exe, as it was perfectly working in the past months. This window pops up every time I launch a code with VS code, I install a new program or I launch programs such as ollydbg.exe.

Any idea on how to sort it out? I believe something is missing in the computer, no clue what...

PS: I do not believe reinstalling windows is a smart solution, as this issue occurred with a windows 10 virtual machine freshly installed.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to Utility.exe, this is a third party app.

Try run below commands to scan system files and the command will try to help fix the system file corruption:

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
