Hello ,
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.
After Windows 11 update, if you cannot access the IP address of shared folders and printers by running commands, you can try the following solutions:
- Make sure the network type is private: Open "Settings" -> "Network and Internet" -> "Status", make sure your network type is set to "Private", which can ensure that the file and printer sharing functions work properly.
- Settings for shared folders and printers:
Right-click the shared folder and select "Properties". In the "Sharing" tab, make sure "Share this folder" is enabled. Click "Advanced Sharing" and make sure "Share this folder" is checked.
- Make sure Windows Firewall is not blocking shared access. Try to temporarily disable the firewall to see if you can access shared folders and printers
- Open "Control Panel" -> "Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change advanced sharing settings".
Make sure "Enable network discovery" and "Enable file and printer sharing" are checked.
- Use IP address directly: In the Run command, try to enter the IP address of the shared folder directly, for example:
\192.168.1.100\shared folder name or printer IP address.
- Make sure your network adapter driver is up to date. You can check and update the network adapter driver through the "Device Manager".
- Try restarting the computer
- If the above methods do not work, you can consider rolling back the most recent Windows update and try to update now after a new version is released.
I hope the information above is helpful.
