Hi

I am facing issue system time only (not date) automatically changed after 24 hrs (means daily ) in HPE Proliant D380 Gen 9 server installed Windows server 2016 . Time goes back 5:30 hrs from current time , server running continuously with internet and server in Workgroup.

Firstly I experience this issue in 09 September 2024 when I restart the server after 1.5 month and after that issue comes daily . Server life is 5 year and when I boot the system bios time is also fine.

Reset and register w32t exe service ,

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to Server time changed automatically.

Try run below command to reset windows time service:

    w32tm /unregister

    w32tm /register

    net start w32time

    w32tm /resync

Also, check in HPE website if there is known issue with ProLiant Gen9 series servers where the OS system time may suddenly change due to a hardware clock sync anomaly.

Ensure that both the BIOS and the operating system are set to the correct time zone. Sometimes, discrepancies between the BIOS and OS time zones can cause issues.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly

    Hi Molly Lu

    Thanks for the reply

I did all this in earlier same issue occurred and windows time zone and bios time zone is also same. I observed that the issue mainly comes in between night 10:30- 11:00 PM and time gap is always 5 hr and 5:30 hrs when time goes back. Windows is up to date .

One thing I also observed when I restart the server bios time is correct but window time is 5 hrs back when it's turn on after restart. I set the time manually after restart the server.
