My friend has a computer that isn't booting up and it Shows that updates are on the way, please keep your laptop on. Then it shows Windows Insider Build had an issue that is a GSOD. I am trying to boot it into safe mode, but it asks me the Bitlocker Recovery Key. He doesn't know the Bitlocker Recovery Key and he also doesn't know his Microsoft Account. How should I fix it?? Because he has important stuff in it!!!

    Hello Ibrahim Qureshi1,

thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.

When dealing with a situation where a computer is asking for a BitLocker recovery key and the user doesn't know the key or the associated Microsoft account, it can be tricky. Although your friend doesn’t know his Microsoft account details, you could try to recover it. Use any email addresses or phone numbers that might be associated with the Microsoft account on the account recovery page. If it doesn't work, please follow the additional steps in Find your BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Support to retrieve the recovery key.

**Important:**Microsoft Support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key. If you can’t find the BitLocker recovery key and are unable to undo any changes that caused it to be needed, you’ll have to reset your device using one of the Windows recovery options.

    Regards,

    Lei
