How to monitor C drive bitlocker encryption progress with black screen?

Hello,

3.5h ago I started encrypting my 200/256GB filled C:/ partition on M.2 SSD in compatible mode with full disk encription (not "only stored data" one).

My monitor is black since the required reboot and computer is powered on.

Is everything ok (being black)? I'd expect some progress bar or some text...

How long should it take? Should it be 2-4h?

256GB "normal/non-m.2" ssd took 0.5-1h

I have Windows 10 without TPM

I tried to connect my monitor with both DP in GPU and HDMI in motherboard - in both cases there is no signal

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to enable bitlocker.

The bitlocker encryption process may take a few time, please wait the process to finish. If the process didn't finish or return an error, please record that error code.

Also, you can try reboot machine if there is no response of power on machine with black screen. If reboot into normal login screen, login the machine and run below command to check the Bitlocker status:

    manage-bde -status

This will show the status of all drives, whether they are encrypted or decrypted.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
