Hello:

I have installed the driver for the 9650se-8lpml on my computer. It was being recognized by the system, however, it is no longer being seen by the system and the driver is not in the device manager. In addition, the backplane is now exhibiting strange behavior as the lights on the cage are flashing consistently. Could the card have gone bad or what else could be the problem, I would appreciate it if someone could give me some help in fixing this problem, thanks, Allen

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

There could be several reasons why your 9650se-8lpml is not being recognized by the system and the backplane lights are flashing consistently. Here are some possible causes and solutions:

Driver Issue: The driver for the 9650se-8lpml might not be compatible with your current operating system. You could try installing the driver in compatibility mode. Also, ensure that you are using the latest version of the driver.

    3Ware / LSI 9650SE-8LPML Windows 10? - Microsoft Community

Hardware Connection: Check the connections between the card and the backplane. Ensure that the cables are properly connected and not damaged.

[SOLVED] All blackplane diodes blinking RED, but nothing seems faulty. Why? - Server Hardware (spiceworks.com)

Firmware Version: Make sure you are on the 4.10.00.027 firmware.

Overheating or Dust: Overheating or dust could cause the backplane to behave strangely. Ensure that the system is clean and well ventilated.

Hardware Failure: If none of the above solutions work, it’s possible that the card or the backplane might have gone bad. In this case, you might need to replace the faulty component.

    Best Regards,

    Wesley Li

    Hi:

FYI, the card was working properly before, I just noticed that the lights on the backplane were consistently flashing and moving from disk to disk, the lights are green, not red. Is there a way to reinstall the drivers? , I will open the case up and check the connections and let you know what happens, thanks for your anticipated response, Allen

I don't know your current operating system, but you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver in safe mode:

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support

It is recommended to contact your equipment supplier to confirm the meaning of the indicator lights on the back panel.
