Up. What can I do?
Task Schedule / Incorrect Password!?
Just like billions of other users, I am facing issues with creating a task via Task Scheduler. The problem, just like others, is that the password or the username result being incorrect / not recognized by the system, despite clearly knowing which is my password.
Any recommendations?

2024-10-24T01:36:17+00:00 Hello,
Could you let me know which account you're using to execute this task? Is it an admin account, a Microsoft account, a standard user account, or a domain account?
What would be the outcome if you were to create the task under the NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM account?
If you are utilizing a local account, ensure that you specify the username in the format
pcname\username
.Should none of the above work, try opening Task Scheduler with administrative privileges, log into your PC with an admin account, and configure the task to run under the admin account.
I apologize, but those are the only suggestions I can think of at the moment. You may have already come across them. Unfortunately, I'm currently out of additional ideas.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Karlie Weng

Hello and thank you for your answer.
- I only have one account (main) in my pc, thus I am using the administrator account to execute the task. It is both: admin and main Microsoft account.
- If I use NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM this happens:
- You're saying to check whether I am using
pcname\username
, but the reality is that Windows 11 is so poorly designed that it confuses itself at times. My pc name is:
FB-ConceptD-2024
but sometimes it's shown as:
FB-CONCEPTD-202
which doesn't make any sense. Why is it cut? Why is it capitalized?
Similarly, my username is: Username (example), but sometimes it is shown as 'username' or 'USERNAME'. In other instances, I am not presented with my username, but with my Microsoft email '******@gmail.com' and / or with my full name which figures both as 'First Name Last Name' or 'FIRST NAME LAST NAME'.
Now, in line of this complexity where the user is presented to navigate amongst:
FB-ConceptD-2024
FB-CONCEPTD-202
usernameUSERNAME******@gmail.comFirst Name Last NameFIRST NAME LAST NAME
I don't see how Windows 11 behaviour is justifiable.
You're also suggesting: Should none of the above work, try opening Task Scheduler with administrative privileges, log into your PC with an admin account, and configure the task to run under the admin account.
I have already done everything you described.
Admit the obvious. Nothing works on Windows, not even something so simple like scheduling the PC to wake up at specific times. For such times an external app would do the work I believe, but I couldn't find any.

2024-11-22T01:44:30+00:00 Hello,
Since you are using only one Microsoft account, which also has admin privileges, that’s not the type of local account I was referring to. What is the difference between a Microsoft account and a local account - Microsoft Community
You may open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts to check your account name.
If it is possible, you may create a local account to execute the task. Also try this system account:
I hope this information helps.
