The computer has the latest Windows 10 software and the printer is an HP 6940. The printer and the computer are hooked to the internet. Without any prompt, the printer is printing out reems of paper with the single following message:

HOST: localhost

GET /cdm/system/v1/status HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

POST /ipp/print HTTP/1.1

Content-Length: 187

Content-Type: application/ipp

HOST: localhost

attributes-charset utf-8Httributes-natural-language enEprinter-uri-ipp://lo

Any ideas?

    Hello,

It seems that this is a widespread issue affecting multiple users. You can refer to this discussion: GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1The question is how do I stop it. - Microsoft Community

Several users have suggested that changing your computer's settings to print using a wifi connection with your printer and disabling the USB connection between your computer and your printer, you will no longer experience the issue.

You may also remove the check from Show informational notifications for local printers. as recommended in this article: "GET/eSCL/ScannerStatus/HTTP/1.1" printing unexpectedly - Windows

Note: Since the websites are not hosted by Microsoft, the links may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

    I hope this information helps.

Thank you for your response. I have removed the direct tie between the computer and the printer and now use the internet as you suggest. This seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks again.
