Disabling offline file sync resolved -OP
One computer cannot access SOME DFS paths
I've got a user "Kristin" that when logging into her computer cannot access \domain.local\data\Subfolder1 but can see \domain.local\data\Subfolder2. It's not until she logs into another PC that she sees \domain.local\data\Subfolder1
- Her computer's object is a member of "domain computers" and has no other groupings which is identical to all other computer objects.
- NTFS permissions have "Kristin" allowed explicitly, and Network permissions have "Everyone" Full on Subfolder.
- She has no issues at all by going directly to UNC path \DFS_RepPartnerServer\Data\Subfolder1 and can see it just fine.
- DNS has been cleared using "ipconfig /flushdns"
- Rejoined PC to Domain, no changes.
a colleague was able to resolve the same issue after replacing their computer. The "Data" folder is explicitly shared but the child folders are not explicitly shared. Nobody else has a problem accessing the child DFS shares at this time. It started randomly 30 days ago.
