Hello.

Is it possible to run VMs with newer guest operating systems such as Server 2022 on a Hyper-V 2016 or 2019 server? Are there any limitations?

Thx

M

Yes, both Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 support the VMs with Windows Server 2022.

I'm not sure if Windows server 2016 (host) Hyper-V can have windows server 2022 VM there is note on the right side that says.

Hosted on Windows Server 2019 or above, Azure Stack HCI, version 20H2 or above.

    Ian,

Can you please confirm ws2022 VM's can be hosted by ws2016? The note is the table leads to think the host server has to run ws2019 and above.
