Hello, can anyone please help me. This morning I open my laptop to see none of my pin apps or even the start button. I restart it and now I can see my pin apps but start isn’t working. And when I try to open setting from my pin it says “ there’s a problem with windows shell experience host refreshing you Pc might help fix it”. However if I click refresh the settings will open but my start still isn’t working. I checked for updates and there is none. My laptop is fully updated. Please help me. I have online school tomorrow and I use my laptop for work.

    Hey there Kendra!

My name is Miguel Ángel and I'm an independent advisor, also a Microsoft user just like you! I'll try to help you today with your issue.

Could you please start by running the Start Menu troubleshooter? It can be downloaded right from here: http://aka.ms/diag_StartMenu. Give it a quick check and see what issues it finds.

If you're using third-party antivirus software, please UNINSTALL it and just use Windows Defender meanwhile.

Please, do also do some system files' integrity checks. Follow these steps:

    1. Press Windows key + X.
    2. Open Command Prompt (Administrator).
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and then press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

I would also recommend running your system in Clean Boot and then Safe Mode to see if the issues persist in those modes and also afterwards:

    CLEAN BOOT: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t....

    SAFE MODE: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

I'll wait for your reply! Don't worry, everything will be okay! :)
