Hello,
According to your description, you don't have a color printing option when printing on your HP laptop, would you like to ask if the other computers that can print in color are using the same HP printer as your laptop?
Here are a few things you can try:
- First, make sure that your HP printer has the color ink cartridge or toner cartridge installed correctly and that the ink or toner volume is sufficient. Sometimes, the disappearance of the color printing option may be automatically disabled because the system detects that the color filament is insufficient or not installed.
- Try updating or reinstalling the latest printer driver. After updating the driver, go to the "Devices and Printers" interface of your computer, find your printer icon, right-click and select "Printer Properties" or "Printing Preferences". Here, take a closer look to see if there are setting options for color printing and make sure they have been set correctly.
- In the print preview or print settings window, check if "Color" is selected as the print mode. Some apps may default to black and white print mode and need to be manually changed to color.
- Set the device type to color: Open "Settings", tap "Devices", click "Printers & Scanners" on the left side, select your printer name, and click the "Manage" button. Click "Print Properties" on the left and click the "Change Properties" button in the window that appears. Select the "Device Settings" tab, scroll down and click on "Device Type", select "Color" from the drop-down menu. Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Check that your laptop supports color printing and has the latest Windows update installed, after installing the latest update, delete and re-add the printer to see if the problem persists.
I hope this information helps.
Best regards,
Jingjing Wu
