Hi

I have a dell optiplex 7010 tower computer onto which I tried to install a windows 10 LTSC 2019 windows from my USB. I booted from my USB from the BIOS which has the OS on it to do the installation. During the steps for installation, it gave me an option of whether I wanted to installed "Windows 10 LTSC 2019" or "Windows 10 N LTSC 2019". Initially I clicked "Windows 10 LTSC 2019" but this kept failing and then I clicked the "Windows 10 N LTSC" and this worked.

However now I am trying to activate my windows with a product key but I can't seem to activate it with a normal " Windows 10 LTSC 2019" product key, and I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the product key for "Windows 10 N LTSC".

I used the same USB to install windows onto a HP computer and it worked fine and installed "Windows 10 LTSC".

Can I know why I can't seem to install "Windows 10 LTSC" and it keeps installing "Windows 10 N LTSC" only on this specific computer (Dell)?

And if I have to go ahead with "Windows 10 N LTSC" can I please know where I can buy an activation key for this?

Thanks

Gana

    Hello   Ganasri Mistry,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

To activate Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSC, you will need a valid product key for that specific edition. You can purchase a product key for Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSC from Microsoft or an authorized reseller. If you are unable to activate your current installation with a normal Windows 10 LTSC 2019 product key, it is likely because you have installed the N version, which requires a different product key.

As for why you are unable to install the regular Windows 10 LTSC 2019 on your Dell Optiplex 7010 tower computer, it could be due to compatibility issues with the hardware or drivers. You may want to check with Dell to see if they have any specific recommendations for installing Windows 10 LTSC on that particular model.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Haijian Shan
