After an inplace udgrade to Windows 11 24H2 (26100.2033), we have a handful of devices that require the user to re-enter their WiFi credentials after every restart.

  • WiFi network uses WP3 Enterprise PEAP MSCHAPv2
  • Saved WiFi profile for wifi network exists on the device
  • Home networks utlising pre shared keys auto connect without issue
  • Ran a dism healthcheck and cleanup
  • Ran sfc and repaired
  • Performed a windows network reset
  • Uninstall drivers and reinstalled
  • Credential Guard enabled or disabled makes no change
  • Performed netsh int ip reset
  • Performed netsh winsock reset
  • Removed saved Wi-Fi profile via settings / registry and powershell
  • Issue did not exist in 23H2

Short of a rollback any ideas on how i could resolve?

    Hello,

Based on my understanding of your issue, I suggest you try the following methods to see if it can be solved:

    1. Press the win+R key combination to open the Run window, enter secpol.msc, and confirm to open the local security policy.
    2. In the local security policy, click "Local Policies-Security Options" in turn, then find "Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication" in the list on the right and set it to "Disabled".

    Best Regards

Many thanks for the reply Zunhui,

The setting is disabled / the default on the affected devcies.

I have also repaired / re-installed 24h2 to no change and confirmed that credential guard is not enabled.

it's looking more and more like this is a 24h2 bug.
