BitLocker key

I recently had to reset my cmos battery due to an error I was getting with my bios and since then I haven’t been able to get into my windows. When trying to it prompts me with a BitLocker recovery screen. I don’t recall ever setting up BitLocker and when I go to the prompted website under my devices it says that I do not have it active. I have important data on my pc that prevents me from doing a clean install to get past this issue.

It would also be helpful if I was able to just directly contact support via the phone or chat but when trying I’m just prompted with unhelpful automated responses.

    Hello,

In my experience, the computer may automatically encrypt itself after some system changes or hardware replacement.

The only solution in this case is to reinstall the system or you can try to enter safe mode to restore the point in time.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Hania
