I have bridged my wifi internet connection to my lan port on the PC

I have run this link to a Netgear witch

My NAS drives are connected tothe switch

PC with wifi (bridged) 2.5G LAN port

Netgear switch 2.5G port

NAS drives - 2.5G port

I can map the NAS drives, I can open them and see the files on them

I cant play and video over t he bridged connection

I can sort of moved a file from the local PC over the connection to a NAS drives (Takes forever)

Why so slow to copy to or from?

Is the bridge setup in Win11 off?

***moved from Windows / Windows 11 / Files, folders, and storage***

    Hi Friends,

Thank you for providing detailed information. Based on your description, you have bridged your Wi-Fi internet connection to the LAN port on your PC and connected it to a Netgear switch to access NAS drives. You can map and open the NAS drives but experience very slow performance when playing videos or transferring files. Here are some possible solutions:

    1. Check Network Adapter Settings:

    • Ensure both your Wi-Fi and LAN adapters are properly configured and not conflicting. Open Network and Sharing Center, check the adapter settings, and ensure the bridge connection is active.

    2. Verify Bridge Connection Configuration:

    • Open "Control Panel" -> "Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change adapter settings".
    • Confirm that your Wi-Fi and LAN adapters are correctly bridged. Try deleting and recreating the bridge connection.

    3. Update Network Drivers:

    • Ensure all network adapter drivers are up-to-date. Visit the websites of your PC and network adapter manufacturers to download and install the latest drivers.

    4. Monitor Network Traffic:

    • Use a network monitoring tool (such as Wireshark) to check for any anomalies in network traffic. Identify if there are any bottlenecks or interference affecting network performance.

    5. Check Switch and NAS Configuration:

    • Ensure the firmware of your Netgear switch and NAS drives is up-to-date.
    • Check the port configurations on the switch, ensuring all ports are set to the correct speed and duplex mode (2.5G full duplex).

    6. Test Direct Connection:

    • Try connecting the PC directly to the NAS drives, bypassing the Netgear switch and Wi-Fi bridge. This will help determine if the issue lies with the bridge connection or the switch.

    7. Use Different Network Protocols:

    • Try using different file transfer protocols (such as FTP or SFTP) to see if there is any improvement.

    8. Check Wi-Fi Performance:

    • Ensure that your Wi-Fi connection has a strong signal and is free from interference. Try changing the Wi-Fi channel or band (e.g., switching from 2.4GHz to 5GHz).

I hope these steps help resolve your issue. If the problem persists, please provide more detailed information for further diagnosis.

    Best regards,

    Rosy
