    Hello,

    I recommend that you use Registry Editor to enable Insecure guest login, see the following steps:

    1. Open Registry Editor. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\LanmanWorkstation.

    Note: If the key does not exist, you need to create it. Hold down the "Windows" key (right-click), select "New" > "Key" and name the switch "LanmanWorkstation".

    1. Hold down the "LanmanWorkstation" key (right-click), select "New" > "DWORD (32-bit) Value" and name it "AllowInsecureGuestAuth". Double-click, set "Value Data" to "1", and press Enter.

    Note If you modify the registry incorrectly, you can cause serious problems. So, follow these steps carefully. For additional protection, back up the registry before modifying it. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, see Backing up and restoring the registry in Windows.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply. As Microsoft's technical support, we are only responsible for issues related to Microsoft products. If it is a problem with third-party software, it is beyond our support scope. I suggest you contact WD Smartware support to give you better help.

    Probably a bit easier:

    Open Power Shell as Admin

    command is:

    Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true

    Confirm it with a response of "A"

    Worked for me on 2 Desktop PC's

    Thank You very much for Your reply.

    I did solve some of the problem by updating the RegDB via RegEditor.

    However it did not solve the problem with WD Smartware backup-system.

    When I try to start the program i shows a pop-up message in a short blink and ends the program.

    In the log i can find this messeage: (sorry for the danish language):

    Adgangsindstillingerne programspecifikke giver ikke Lokal Aktivering adgang til COM-serverprogrammet med CLSID
    {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
    og APPID
    {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}
    for brugeren DESKTOP-8H24IJF\oz1kk SID (S-1-5-21-1518455128-4269180171-3509868132-1001) fra adressen LocalHost (via LRPC), der kører i programbeholderen Microsoft.SkypeApp_15.133.3202.0_x64__kzf8qxf38zg5c SID (Ikke tilgængelig). Denne sikkerhedstilladelse kan redigeres ved hjælp af administrationsværktøjet til komponenttjenester.

    Do you have any hints on what settings abt security I need for componants ?

    Best regards - Erik Nielsen
