Pin/UnPin From/To Start Menu in Windows 11 is not possible since preview CU 2024-07

Hello all.

I just noticed on all my updated clients with Windows 11 that Pin any program to Start Manu is gone.
Also UnPin from it is also not possible anymore.
Its probably after last CU from this month.

Its affected to all clients in Domain, but also in regular WorkGroup without any custom GPO/Registry settings. To make sure its something wrong I just made new "fresh" OS install without any customization.

Can you confirm this issue to?

My Microsoft Windows is in Version 10.0.22631.4169

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to update cause pin issue.

Firstly you can try uninstall that 2024-09 CU and reboot machine, then monitor if the issue disappears.

I checked the September 10, 2024—KB5043076 (OS Builds 22621.4169 and 22631.4169) website, it seesm there is no known issue related to this update been published, but you can keep monitoring this website and check if there is new info:

Today I look more detailed to it and just observed the issue started exist after installing CU Preview from 2024-07. Regular CU for 2024-07 still don't had it.

Have a look for my LAB machine:

Try uninstalling that 2024-07CU preview, then monitor is the issue disappear.
