I'm sharing a folder on my Windows 10 PC, providing Full Access to Everyone on my network. From my Windows 11 PC, I can access the shared folder and two sub-folders deeper, but when I get to the third and last sub-folder, I receive this error message:

Any ideas on what's causing this? Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

Could you please compare whether the sharing permissions and NTFS permissions of the account that cannot access the files in the shared folder and the files that can be accessed normally are the same.

Zunhui, thank you for your response. Here are the screenshots you requested:

Also, here is some additional information that may be helpful.

File Explorer on the Win 10 PC shows 'Network' in the left Pane and lists the Names of the connected PC's and NAS
On the Win 11 PC, 'Network' in the File Explorer left Pane is displayed but the connected Win 10 PC's is not displayed.
However, If I enter the address of the Win 10 PC ( ROB-BUSTER is the PC Name) in the File Explorer Address Bar
( i.e. \ROB-BUSTER ) the shares are displayed in File Explorer but all shared folders are not fully accessible. Let me explain:

I'm sharing and have been sharing 9 folders from the Win 10 PC (ROB-BUSTER). Win 10 to Win 10, this has always worked until I started using W 11. What's strange is that I can access some of the shares from Win 11 PC & Surface, but in some cases I can only access the top-level folder or one-folder deeper, of not the 2nd sub-folder, but the third. It just makes no logical sense to me. It appears that from Win 11 PC & Surface, the file sharing permissions do not appear to be inherited top to bottom.

    Note:
The advanced Ethernet settings are the same on all computers.

    Private Network
    Network discovery - ON
Set up network connected devices automatically - Checked
File and printer sharing - ON

    All Networks
    Public folder sharing - ON
    Password protected sharing - OFF

    Connection Name is the same
    Network name is the same.
    Workgroup is the same.

When I execute the 'Net View" cmd on the Win 11 PC I get:
System error 64 has occurred - the specified network name is no longer available.

When I execute the 'Net View" cmd on the Win 10 PC I get:
    \NAS

    \ROB-BUSTER

    \SURFACE
    The command completed successfully

When I execute the 'Net Use" cmd on the Win 11 PC I get:
    New connections will be remembered.

    Status Local Remote Network

OK U: \NAS-DS1520\usbshare1 Microsoft Windows Network
    OK \ROB-BUSTER\E - Miscellaneous
    Microsoft Windows Network
    Disconnected \ROB-BUSTER\L - TV Series 4
    Microsoft Windows Network
    The command completed successfully.

When I execute the "Net Use" cmd on the Win 10 PC I get:
    New connections will be remembered

There are no entries to list
    The command completed successfully

I can 'ping' the Win 10 PC from the Win 11 PC
I can 'ping' the Win 11 PC from the Win 10 PC

Hope somebody can help get this File Sharing working properly between Win 11 / 10.

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. You can check whether the inaccessible subfolder inherits the ntfs permissions of the superior folder.

    Best regards
