    Hello

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

    Windows Defender Boot Scan Issues:

If you experience a Stop error on a blue screen when you run the offline scan, restart your device and try running a Microsoft Defender Offline scan again.

You can also check the scan results in the Windows Security app by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Protection history.

    BIOS Issues:

If your current BIOS configuration is out of date, you may need to update it to resolve performance, stability, or security issues. This update might require multiple reboots.

    Additional Troubleshooting Steps:

Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters and selecting Windows Update.

Check the Windows Update service status by pressing Win + R, typing services.msc, and ensuring that the Windows Update service is running and set to Automatic.

Use the DISM Tool by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and running the following commands one by one:

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

Safe Mode: Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, there might be a software conflict causing the problem. You can access Safe Mode by holding Shift while clicking “Restart” and then navigating to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > Safe Mode.

Run Hardware Diagnostics: Many laptops have built-in diagnostics tools. You can access these by pressing a specific key during startup (often F12 or Esc). Run a full hardware diagnostic to check for any issues.

    Best Regards,

    Wesley Li
