Disable Windows Terminal and Powershell for domain users (Non-Admin Users)

Hi,

I am trying to disable Windows Powershell and Terminal from the GPO for the Domain Users.

For cmd prompt there is a defined Administrative Template to prevent access to it.

However, there is no template for Powershell , and I tried block it through "Don't Run Specified Windows Application" and listed the following executable files:

  • powershell.exe
  • powershell_ise.exe
  • pwsh,exe

The problem with this method is, users cannot open PowerShell from the PowerShell .exe however, they can access through Windows Terminal.

In addition, 'Run as Admin' option is not available if Admin Users wants to run powershell, which is possible in the case of cmd prompt.
