Hello,

My server has blocked by registry entries to be automatic updated or restarted automatically after updates. However this KB5031364 seems to have bypassed all this and just update and restart my server.... Does anyone experience something similar? this is very concerning

    Hi Manuel Mesa

Automatic updates are disabled means that you can't download and install any updates or apps through your Windows settings or the Windows Store. However, there are some updates that are mandatory and can't be blocked or disabled by users or administrators. These updates are usually to fix some serious security vulnerabilities or stability issues, or to support new hardware or software features. KB5031364 is one of them. It's a cumulative update that contains some important improvements and fixes. So, even if your automatic update has been disabled, it can still be downloaded through a background service and restart your server to complete the installation.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Lei

While I understand the need for this feature, it is a very painful experience frequently. Is there a way to setup a notification when one of these mandatory reboots are going to happen so I can prepare my infrastructure for it and not experience unneeded downtime in getting my services all running again?
