Edge not prompting me to select a certificate

I'm trying to access a website page through Edge, it requires a certificate. However it sometimes asks for one, but other times it does bring up the pop up to select a certificate. We use Citrix. It does not work on some servers but does on others. We work from 4 proxies which are all the exact same settings, bypass SSL are the same also.

cleared cache, reset browser, certificate is in date etc.

Any help world be appreciated.

    Hi Jack Quinn2,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forums.

    I. Checking certificate settings

    Import the certificate:

Open Edge browser, click the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the page, and select “Settings” option in the drop-down box.

In the Settings window, click the “Privacy, Search and Services” tab on the left.

In the “Security” section on the right side of the page, click the “Manage certificates” option.

In the pop-up certificate window, click the “Import” button and follow the wizard prompts to import the required certificate file.

    Check the certificate storage location:

Ensure that the certificate has been properly imported into the browser's trusted root certificate authority store.

    Check the browser configuration

    Automatic certificate selection:

The Edge browser may sometimes not automatically select the correct certificate. You can try to manually select the correct certificate when the certificate selection window pops up.

    Disable unnecessary extensions:

Some browser extensions may interfere with the certificate selection process. Try disabling some unnecessary extensions and then revisit the website.

    Update your browser:

Make sure you are using the latest version of Edge browser. Newer versions of the browser may fix some known issues related to certificates.

Third, check the proxy server settings

    Proxy server configuration:

Check the proxy server configurations to make sure they are handling SSL/TLS connections and certificates correctly.

    Bypassing SSL Proxies:

If you have set up to bypass SSL proxies, make sure the setting is correct and applies to all relevant proxy servers.

IV. Check network and security software

    Firewall and antivirus software:

Certain firewalls and antivirus software may prevent browsers from accessing certain websites or interfere with the certificate validation process. Try temporarily disabling these programs and then revisit the site.

    Check network connection:

Ensure that your network connection is stable and not subject to any form of network attack or interference.

    V. Contact Technical Support

    Citrix Technical Support:

If you are using a Citrix solution, contact the Citrix Technical Support team for their help and advice.

    Webmaster:

If the problem persists, contact the administrator of the site you are trying to access to find out if they have any specific certificate requirements or configuration recommendations.

    Best regards

    Neuvi
