My server roles only show RD licensing and nothing else. When I try to deploy the Remote Desktop Services installation it fails.

This is the list of RD services. You can see I only have licensing installed.

    Hi Alex Rodriguez_618,

here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Check that your server meets the system requirements for Remote Desktop Services.
    2. Make sure that you have the necessary permissions to install roles and features on the server. You may need to be logged in as an administrator or have elevated privileges.
    3. Try running the installation again, but this time, run it as an administrator. Right-click on the installation file and select "Run as administrator."
    4. Check the event logs on the server for any errors or warnings related to the Remote Desktop Services installation. This may give you more information about what is causing the installation to fail.
    5. If none of these steps work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the Remote Desktop Services role. Before doing this, make sure to back up any important data on the server.

    Hope it helps.

    Kind regards,

    Lei

    Hi Lei,

Thank you for your response. Turns out I had windows server 2019 essentials. I had to upgrade to standard to get all the necessary roles and services. Hopefully your response can also help anyone else with thr same issue. Thank you.
