Windows App is unstable on MacOS 15.0.1

I am trying to use the Windows App in MacOS15.0.1 and it is a very painful experience.  The connection automatically closes (doesn't even disconnect) and happens when I am in the middle of doing work in the remote desktop.  The Windows App worked just fine in MacOS 14.7, but ever since moving to MacOS 15 the app has been unstable.  We need a patch for this ASAP.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community forum.

I understand that your remote desktop client is not working properly after updating the MacOS system. Please check that all available patches in the system update are installed.

This seems to be a known issue related to MacOS 15 Sequoia. You are advised to check for Remote Desktop client version updates or download the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Mac App Store.

If the problem persists, we sincerely hope that you can help us improve your Windows experience by reporting this phenomenon through the Feedback Center app and sending us your suggestions:

Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app - Microsoft Support

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Jacen

I have also had this problem. However, it doesn't just seem to be a macOS Sequoia problem but also exists with

a Windows PC contacting another Windows PC using the Windows version of the app. Waiting for updates of Sequoia won't work in that case. The only one that doesn't fail and crash out is using a iPad OS running the iOS version of the Windows app.

    Hi All

The good news is that withe the OS upgrade to 15.1.1 the Windows app doesn't bomb out with a 0x0407 error randomly - or even systematically.

Instead it stays connected but not accessed and minimised for a while it may ask you to log again. Short breaks no problem.

So essentially back to pre 15.0.1 OS conditions.

    Cheers, Bruce
