Windows 11 24h2 Forgetting Hidden Network

So I setup a new computer for one of our locations and it has a hidden network. We can connect to it with the computer and all is good until you restart it or it is shutdown/booted back up. Once this occurs, the hidden network no longer appears in the network list to connect to(but does show up in the settings under manage networks...) so it will not auto connect to it and we are forced to re-enter the ssid and password after any reboot. After doing so it will then show up as the network name and 2 because the original one will also appear once doing this and we just have it forget one(this is unless we go into the manage networks and forget it before readding it). This is an issue as the users do not have the password and so anytime a reboot happens we have to get on there and put the network back in for them. We have had issues with no other versions of Windows we have used and so this seems like a dreaded 24H2 issue to add to the list. Has anyone else experienced this and have a fix or easy workaround?

    Hello

Based on my understanding of your issue, I suggest you try the following steps to see if it can be resolved:

    1. Open Control Panel, click Network and Internet, open Network and Sharing Center, and click Change Adapter Settings.
    2. Double-click the WLAN, enter the WLAN status configuration, click the Wireless Properties tab, and check the two options of Connect automatically when this network is in range and Connect even if it does not broadcast the network name (SSID).

    Best regards

Already have tried that but Windows continues to have this issue. I've never had this issue before and now it is a daily thing with this user. Looks like it is another Windows 11 24H2 issue that has no workaround and users are stuck waiting for a fix or get to go completely reload the machine to load an older version.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I suggest you try the following method again to see if the problem can be solved:

    1. Open cmd as an administrator and run the following command to reset the network.

    netsh winsock reset

    1. Open the device manager and find the corresponding wireless network card driver, uninstall the driver and reinstall it, or download the latest version of the network card driver from the website of the wireless network card driver manufacturer and install the driver.

    Best regards
