Two possible explanations for this inconsistency could be:
- When a lease duration expires, the DHCP server does not immediately reclaim the IP address. Instead, it enters a grace period during which the client can still renew the lease. These leases are also considered "in use" because they haven't been fully released or renewed yet. - If DHCP lease scavenging is enabled, expired leases may not be immediately removed from the statistics until the scavenging process runs and cleans up the database.
